Captives (The Safe Lands #1)One choice could destroy them all.

When eighteen-year-old Levi returned from Denver City with his latest scavenged finds, he never imagined he’d find his village of Glenrock decimated, loved ones killed, and many—including his fiancée, Jem—taken captive. Now alone, Levi is determined to rescue what remains of his people, even if it means entering the Safe Lands, a walled city that seems anything but safe.

Omar knows he betrayed his brother by sending him away, but helping the enforcers was necessary. Living off the land and clinging to an outdated religion holds his village back. The Safe Lands has protected people since the plague decimated the world generations ago … and its rulers have promised power and wealth beyond Omar’s dreams.

Meanwhile, their brother Mason has been granted a position inside the Safe Lands, and may be able to use his captivity to save not only the people of his village, but also possibly find a cure for the virus that threatens everyone within the Safe Lands’ walls. Will Mason uncover the truth hidden behind the Safe Lands’ façade before it’s too late?

Ok first off I would like to thank Zondervan for the review copy!  This was a wonderful book that if you read it.  You will be screaming by the end because it ends on such a cliff hanger you will want to die until you can get a hold of book 2.  This book will force you to deal with emotions that you hope you will never have to deal  with outside of reading.  I must say that fans of The Hunger Games will love this one as did I.  I cant wait for book 2 and hope that all of you enter my giveaway for the ARC that I was sent.

Merlin's Blade (The Merlin Spiral, #1)A strange meteorite.
A deadly enchantment.
And only Merlin can destroy it.

A meteorite brings a mysterious black stone whose sinister power ensnares everyone except Merlin, the blind son of a swordsmith. Soon, all of Britain will be under its power, and he must destroy the stone—or die trying.

Where to get Merlin’s Blade

You should now be able to buy the novel worldwide … here are a few links to help out:
In the U.S.A.:
Internationally:
And you’ll find it in most other countries as well … including Japan, Germany, France, South Africa, the Czech Republic, and many, many more.

This is a new take on the entire Merlin story.  Treskillard take the old myth and creates a new story that really makes you see the story of this wonderful character.  The tale of King Arthur and Merlin is one that has been told over centuries.  From movies like First Knight to books and tv shows like The Mysts of Avalon.  This is a tale that will always be close to our hearts.  The fight between good and evil takes on a new twist as Treskillard adds meteors and a half blind Merlin whom is now the son of a blacksmith.  This book is an epic adventure that will leave you wanting more!

I would recommend this book to those who both love and don't love Christian fiction.  It would be a great book for boys ages 13 and up.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. Again I didn't realize that this was a book 2 but I think I did pretty well even though I haven't read Code of Silence. So this one is about the same cast and crew from Code of Silence.  They ride their bikes through the park one day and see a van with a backpack on the roof. Well Gordy tries to get the drivers attention and is kidnapped by the man in the van.  Cooper calls 911 and isn't sure he remembered the right license plate.  I kinda give him credit of getting the plate number to begin with.  This book was great.  It was face paced as something is always happening. It has adventure, fear, and these kids are just so strong to find their friend when it seems that the police wont be able to.  Its an edge of your seat thrill ride that will keep you coming back for more.

Suspense fiction for 8-13-year-old middle school readers.
