This one was great!  I had just read Shadowland and hated it so this one was so much better.  The author did her homework!  This one will so not disappoint you! Ok so Meg is a girl whose family is hiding for reasons that Meg doesnt know. And like me she was uprooted a lot to move to new places.  I know how she felt the longest ive ever lived in once place was 5 years. So with an alcoholic mother and a father that is so closed off Meg really just wants to find out why they have to hide.  So enter Ethan and that is when Meg really ends up getting into more than she bargained for.

The ending to this one made me blue.  It just felt very empty and incomplete.  I did enjoy the book. But I am a firm believer that the ending makes the book and with this one it just fell short.  I am still rating the book with three big stars as it is a very good story.  So you should deff check it out.

About The Author

I was born in Tucson, Arizona. Shortly after this my mother moved us to Minnesota, where I have remained ever since. There has never been a time when I was not writing. As a child I would come home from school, pull out my plastic bin full of markers and paper, and arrange everything around me in a circle. I would then fold some paper in half, staple the side three times, and proceed to fill the white spaces with words and pictures.

The first novel I ever finished was so thick it could have served as a doorstop. It was about Victorian vampires. It was 2008, and I was sixteen years old. Since I have always been a huge fan of Libba Bray's, I decided I wanted to follow in her footsteps in every way. So I did research on how to get a book published. I discovered what a literary agent was. And I promptly wrote a query to send to Barry Goldblatt, Libba's agent.

Understandably, that awkward, snail-mail query received no reply. As the days turned into weeks I reconsidered my approach. I concluded that maybe this manuscript wasn't the one I wanted to show the world. So I took another year and wrote a completely new novel, a contemporary-suspense kind of story. It was 2009, I was seventeen and on my own.

By this time I had realized that agents accepted e-mail queries, and Barry Goldblatt wasn't the only one in the world, so I sent off a new query to a list of them. Beth was among that list. After a long, enlightening journey, I again shelved a manuscript. Time passed. I graduated high school in 2010, and immediately afterwards ran off to California and wrote another novel. Then I came back to my beloved Minnesota and got responsible, enrolling in college and finding a job.

And in the beginning of 2011, I queried Beth again. I was eighteen years old, with a story that was new and strange and exciting. I had written it during a time when I was living with people I didn't know that well, in a place that was a little frightening, during a time when absolutely nothing was certain. Beth quickly got back to me. The subject of her e-mail read, RE: Query: SOME QUIET PLACE.

The rest, as they say, is history.

This is one of those books where you are going to love it or hate it.  The ending was a little disappointing. I dont really want to try and explain all of the issues I had with this book as I am an anti spoiler site.  So the biggest thing I will say is to just get the book from the library etc. Read it and make your own choice.

This one I just couldnt get into.  From chapter one feeling like it just popped like a daisy to the lack of world building. THis one just want for me.  I had a hard time figuring out who was doing what and it made it all very confusing. This book and story had a lot of potential but just wasnt played out very well.  On a side note I love this authors other books (13 to Life)  I just think this one needed a little more work.

Well this one I was SO HAPPY to get an earc of the book!  I was going nuts.  I hadnt read this series since the second book came out over a year ago.  So I went out and grabbed copies so I could reread the entire series to get the full affect. And you know what? 

I LOVED IT!!!!  

From the world that Cross created to the characters themselves I just eat up this series and to have Emily on the cover this time I am just dying for a print copy! 

So a giant 5 stars for this series!!! So cant wait for more!!!

I tried so hard to like this book.  I love the cover and just adored what the book was about. But for the story itself it really fell short for me.  It was slow and the magic system was very confusing.  I just found that I couldnt really get into the book at all.

This is not my first book by this author.  I normally shy away from fantasy adult novels as they tend to try and do to much at one time.  But this one was GREAT! This is a great mix of science fiction, mythology, post apocalyptic and just a plain great book!

The one thing I didnt like was all the terms. So the first few chapters are going to be a challenge. But Mead builds a world that you can see as you read the book.

Sorry it took so long for me to review this one.  Life kinda got in my way!  But im back!  

So this one I have heard of being described as The Terminator meets The Walking Dead.  And I must agree. This one will throw you for a loop and then bring you back and eat you!  Our main character Eve is one kick butt character. This one gives an entirely new take on zombies and I will deff be picking this one up in print and so should you!

So cant wait for book 2!

At first I thought this was a sequel to Beautiful Disaster, but then I was told that it is the same story just told my the POV of Travis instead of Abby.  I must say that this was kinda neat.  This is something that I really think started with Midnight Sun from the Twilight series.  Which of course never was printed.  But all in all I think a lot of people should do this.  It gives us readers a choice on what POV we want to read the book in.  So those who love girl POVs could choose that and so forth.  I couldnt put this one down!  I loved it even more than Beautiful Disaster!  Great Job McGuire! Cant wait for more!!

My Review: 5 Stars

I loved this book when I got it from Netgalley last year.  When they released the paperback I had to grab it to re read it!  I was so happy to be sent a print copy of not only book 1 in paperback but book 2 in print ARC!  THANKS!!

I must say that I love the new covers!!  And was only a little disappointed in book 2 as most of the story was Allison walking around looking for her maker. I love the new take on the vampire world and cant wait to see what else Kagawa has in store!

Suzanne Williams is the award-winning author of nearly 40 books for children, from picture books and easy readers to chapter books and middle grade fiction series. A former elementary school librarian, she lives near Seattle. Her picture book Library Lil (illustrated by Steven Kellogg) won the New Mexico children's choice award in 2000 and was on several other state award lists. She is co-author (with Joan Holub) of the popular Goddess Girls series(for ages 8 - 12) and Heroes in Training (ages 6 - 11). Other series include Fairy Blossoms and Princess Power.

I graduated from college in Texas with a fine arts degree, and then freelanced as an art director at a graphic design firm for eight years. I dreamed of working in children's books, so I moved to New York City and became associate art director in Scholastic trade books, where I designed books for children and worked with editors and illustrators. It was a great job.

I illustrated my first published children's book in 1992 and soon began illustrating full time. I began completing manuscripts and mailing them out to publishers in the early 1990s. In 1996, I sold my first two manuscripts -- Boo Who? A Spooky Lift-the-Flap Book (Scholastic) and Pen Pals (Grosset & Dunlap). Yippee!

Now I write full time and have written and/or illustrated over 130 children's books. Creating books that entertain, inform, and interest children (and me) is a fabulous job that I truly love.

About the Author

Janelle Stalder was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario. At an early age she developed a love for literature. Her debut novel, Eden, was the first book in a series of four, released in September of 2011. The second book, Eden-West, was released in July of 2012, and the third book, Eden-South was released in March of 2013. The fourth book of the Eden Series, Eden-East, will be release at the end of 2013. She is a strong supporter of other indie authors, and loves to interact with her readers. When she’s not writing, Janelle is at home with her husband, two children, Aiden and Elora, and her two furry children, Alice and Lily. She now resides in the small town of Orangeville, Ontario in her old, possibly haunted, century home.
